This coming November 20-27, 2009, the YAsia Fiesta! ASIAN YOUTH DAY Celebration will be hosted by the Episcopal Commission on Youth. The host diocese is the DIOCESE OF IMUS. We are encouraging every member-dioceses to comply with the deadlines for the event, especially the submission of Registration Form 1 on MAY 30. In Line with the perparations for the Asian Yotuh Day, the Southern tagalog will be visited by the AYD Cross from June 1 to 15, 2009. As of this moment, the Regional Officers are planning the program for the Yotuh Cross Visit.

The Southern Tagalog Regional Youth Ministry is encouraging every member-dioceses to plan a run of UNANG HAKBANG in their local areas, to show our unity with the Eposcopal Commission on Youth in initiating formation runs for our Youth Ministers.

50 Young Facilitators attend the Pre-Camp 2009
(Calapan - April 7, 2009) Around 50 Young Mindorenos attended the QUEMARLABARO Pre-Camp 2009 last April 4-5, 2009 held at St. Augustine Spirituality Center in Suqui, Calapan City. This was spearheaded by the Dicoesan Commission on Youth and the Diocesan Formation Secretariat, in line with the preparation for the upcoming QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp 2009 to be hosted by the Apostolic Vicariate Calapan this coming April 21, 24.
The Pre-Camp started at around 9:00am and ended the following day at 3:30 in the afternoon.
The Pre-Camp became a venue for the participants to deeply experience the journey with St. Paul. Some of the highlights of the Pre-Camp are the Eucharistic Celebration, Confession, Small and Big Group Sharings, and the General Orientation for the Camp Proper, since the Pre-Camp participants will play a special role in the Camp.
As of this moment, the Regional Youth Camp 2009 attracted more than 500 young people to register for the event. Actual number of participants as well as the List of Registered Participants is summarized on our Participants Database Page.
Foster Parents Orientation Kicks Off at Calapan
(CALAPAN - April 3, 2009) More than 40 families attended the first of the six schedule of Foster Parents Orientation last April 2, 2009. This happened at the Parish Hall of Sto. Nino Cathedral Parish in Calapan City.
Tito Oddie Quinio from Family and Life Apostolate facilitated the activitiy with Ate Lucy Gabia, VF1 Formation Secretariat. The Foster Parents Orientation, which started at around 6:25 in the evening, targets to inform all Foster Parents their important role in the celebration of the QUEMARLABARO Regional Camp 2009 this coming April 21-24. The Orientation was inspired by the Story of Mary and Martha as they welcome Jesus in their home for a visit.
Afterwards, Ate Lucy presented the QUEMARLABARO History as well as some important things to remember during the celebration. Inquiries are also addressed. The Orientation ended at around 8:30 in the evening.
More than 200 families are expected to be part of the Regional Camp 2009 as Foster Families. The next Foster Family Orientation will happen on the following parishes and dates: St. Francis of Assisi Quasi Parish (April 4, 8:00am ), Sts. Peter and Paul Chaplaincy (April 4, 8:00am), St. Benedict Chaplaincy (April 4, 3:00pm), Divine Mercy Chaplaincy (April 12, 9:00am) and San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish (April 13, 5:00pm).
Number of Interested Participants Reaches Pax Limit per Diocese; Statistics Shows Projection of over 500 Pax for Camp 2009
(CALAPAN - April 3, 2009) As of this morning, a total of 459 participants are encoded in the Participants Database for the QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp 2009. This is expected to reach the 500 by tomorrow.
Around 42 delegates are still waiting to be encoded. This bulk is coming from the Archdiocese of Lipa, which was projected to even submit more than 50 partcipants tomorrow morning.
Thirteen participants coming from Calapan are still followed up by the Commission. and another six (6) interested participants are in waiting list. They will be given confirmation of available slots by tomorrow afternoon.

Youth Ministers attend the Regional Conference, QCC elects New Set of Regional Officers
(GUMACA - January 23, 2009) The QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Ministry sucessfully upheld the Regional Youth Conference from January 21 to 23, 2009 at Diocesan Youth Center, Gumaca, Quezon. Seven member-dioceses attended the event.
A forum about Global Warming was given by the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Gumaca. Ball games and socialization took place afterwards.
During the second day, the QUEMARLABARO Coordinating Council (QCC) elected its new set of officers. The following are the newly-elected Regional Officers of the Southern Tagalog Regional Youth Ministry:
Regional Youth Director: Rev. Fr. Dakila "Daks" Ramos (Archdiocese of Lipa)
Assistant Regional Youth Director: Rev. Fr. Jovito "Jayvee" Olaya (Dicoese of Gumaca)
Regional Youth Coordinator: Joseph Daniel Flores (Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan)
Regional Youth Leader: Dominic "Dhoi" Despues (Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan)
Regional Youth Treasurer: Dennis M. Urciana (Diocese of Lucena)
Also, the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan presented its General Plan for the Regional Youth Camp 2009, receiving positive feedbacks and support from all diocesan youth ministries present during the meeting.
Rev. Fr. Raphael Jose "Raffy" V. Tolentino, the former Regional Youth Director presided the regional meeting and election of officers along with the Regional Youth Secretary, Mr. Dexter "Dex" Lucerio. The turnover ceremony took place after the election.
Parish Youth Chairpersons to Attend a Special Meeting with the Commission on Youth
(CALAPAN - January 16, 2009) A Special Assembly of Parish Youth Chairpersons from all parishes of Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan (AVC) will be held on January 31, 2009 at Holy Family Parish, Socorro, Oriental Mindoro.
To be facilitated by the Diocesan Commission on Youth, the special meeting of Youth Chairpersons will give way to the discussion of important details for the upcoming QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp 2009. Tasking and presentation of the 3-month timetable will be part of the said meeting.
This is the second time that AVC will host the QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp. The last time was in 1998 held in St. Augustine Seminary, Suqui, Calapan City.
Camp Organizers, All Set to Lay Down Plans for the Upcoming QUEMARLABARO 2009
(CALAPAN - January 13, 2009) This coming January 22, the Diocesan Commission on Youth of the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan is all set to present to the Regional Coordinating Council the plans for the QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp 2009. This will take place during the Regional Conference to be held from January 21 to 23, 2009 at Gumaca, Quezon.
Prior to this is the final discussion of the details of the camp with the Diocesan Formation Secretariat, which will happen on January 16, Friday, at Calapan City.
The QUEMARLABARO Regional Youth Camp 2009 which is scheduled on April 21-24, 2009 at Calapan City, is expected to attract more than 500 delegates from all over Southern Tagalog Region.
